The CWI Conference 2021, Not Just Recovery? Reflecting and Reimagining Rights and Resilience, brought together 250 delegates, community workers, and NGOs working with the most marginalised communities in the country, who over the past 18 months, have worked to mitigate the worst effects of the pandemic on those with the least resources to tackle them.
The conference heard from Dr. Mike Ryan Executive Director of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme in conversation with Ronnie Fay and Joe O’Brien Minister of State at the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Department of Social Protection on the experience of the most disadvantaged communities in Ireland and globally during the past 18 months, the lessons learned, and the key priorities for action in building a just and sustainable recovery as we emerge from the Covid-19 crisis.
